First, you must complete the online registration. Click here for the online registration paperwork.
Next, you will sign up for an appointment on our sign-up genius. Click here for the Enrollment Appointment Sign-Ups.
You will work with our guidance secretary, Mrs. McMahan, to make sure everything is in order and then you will meet one on one with a counselor to pick classes.
At your appointment, you need to bring:
the student's birth certificate
proof of residence that you live in our district (current power, water or cable bill)
copy of Immunization records
*though not required, a transcript or some list of historical grades completed so far during your student's high school career will be EXTREMELY helpful for your counselor to determine the best courses to take at LNHS
It is extremely helpful to have a copy of your student's transcript (which many times if you just ask your current school's counselor or registrar, they can easily send you over an unofficial transcript) when we are trying to create your student's schedule at Lake Norman. We use the transcript to determine which graduation requirements still need to be completed and this also helps us ensure we are choosing the most appropriate level for various courses. Lastly, it also allows us to make sure we aren't putting a student in a course they already received credit for but just don't remember completing.

You may also reach out to the counselor who will be assigned to your student and the counselor can assist with course specific questions. We divide our caseloads by last name and these assignments/email addresses can be found on the main page of our student services page.
