Grade 1

How We Organize ourselves

Getting to know who we are in English and the food we like to eat.

The children enjoyed reading "Today in Monday" by Eric Carle. It tells about children eating many different foods, such as spaghetti, fresh fish and zoop.

The children made toffee apples with me in class to help them to understand the process that people use to make different food.

As we went through the process, the children sequenced pictures into the correct order.

They gladly took the finished products home.

Learning letter sounds can be fun.

The children learnt the letter y sounds by drawing it in yellow yoghurt. Then we ate it.

We learnt the letter j by making jelly. We learnt the poem, "Jelly on a Plate" and shared our jelly with all of Grade 1.
