Sparky in the art room: AI as your creative teaching assistant (ES, MS / Hands-on)
What if every art teacher, and every art student, had a creative teaching assistant available whenever they needed one?
In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore Flint and its AI assistant, Sparky, and discover practical ways to bring AI into the art classroom. We’ll look at how teachers can use Flint to design projects, develop curriculum, explore instructional methodologies, differentiate learning, and generate new ideas.
Participants will then experience Flint from the student perspective, exploring how Sparky can act as a personal creative tutor—helping students develop ideas, explore possibilities, strengthen art skills, analyse images, reflect on their process, and receive feedback on their artwork, both in class and at home.
After a short introduction, most of the session will be hands-on. Teachers will work directly with Flint and Sparky, experimenting with prompts and activities they can immediately adapt to their own classrooms.
