One day, my kindergarten teacher told my mother, “Whatever that boy wants to do with his hands, you just let him go”…and the stage was set!
Teaching art and visual communication to elementary children, alongside expressing myself as both a practicing artist/painter and musician, sprinkled with some writing, has been the essence of my life now for over 25 years. It’s a powerfully exciting, inspiration-filled existence where the children feed me and I feed them…and I get to stay a tail-waggin’ goof-ball!
On the other hand, my art and my ideals for art are highly influenced by the mastery of the Flemish and Dutch Masters, and the artists of the Italian Renaissance. I hope to continue to create and share based on my desires, which are strongly driven by the intent for my work, no matter the subject, to be rich, pleasing, and meaningful to others.
Spare time, there is none…the line between work and play is thin, and they both get the same level of intensity! My attack on life also gels with playing a variety of bagpipes, playing Irish pub gigs, playing ice hockey, skateboarding and in-line skating, chess, World of Tanks, reading, and sharing life with family.
