Meet our MC

Hi, my name is Amali Benner. I’m 12 years old and in year 8. I love cats, being in the water, dark chocolate and reading  fantasy books. Some of my favourite authors are Shannon Messenger who wrote Keeper of the Lost Cities,Tracy Deonne who wrote Legendborn and Soman Chainani who wrote the School for Good and Evil series. I have 2 siblings, a mum, a dad and a dog called Oliver. I’m from Sydney, Australia and have lived in Nassau in the Caribbean, Australia and Monaco. I joined ISM 4 years ago and spoke at TEDx one year ago. I joined TEDx again this year because TEDx is so much fun. I had the best teacher, Alicia Sedgwick. I love TEDx because it teaches you to use words. Words are the most powerful thing us humans have.  And when you are on stage and people are listening to your words, that is the most beautiful thing. Up on stage you have the power to make a difference, an impact. This is what TEDx  lets you do; it gives you the tools you need to do incredible things. It’s an amazing opportunity. Everyone who gets the chance should definitely go for it.
