Topic: DEFINING GENDER IDENTITY RIGHTS IN THE C21ST.
The General Assembly,
Acknowledging that 10% of transgender people reported recently attempting suicde
a) Are 2x more likely to attempt suicide
Stressing that over 55% that have joined the LGBTQ community have lost their job due to being bias
a) and 19% were homeless due to this, along with parents
Bearing in mind that 51% people from the LGBTQ community have been bullied or harrassed
a) 53% were verbally harassed or disrespected in a public place, such as: hotels, restaurants, buuses, airports and government buildings
b) and/or 25% were physically assaulted
c) and/or 10% were sexually assaulted
Emphasising that 63% were seriously discriminated against, compromising their quality of life and ability to be financially or emotionally secure
Fully aware that LGB youth seriously contemplate suicide at almost three times the rate of heterosexual youth
Taking note that 1 out of 6 students nationwide (grades 9–12) seriously considered suicide in the past year.
Recalling that anxiety and depression are frequently observed both before and after transition
1. Calls upon for schools to inform students that you as an individual, don’t need to choose your gender or don’t have to stick with their identity they are given at birth
2. Encourages students to talk to the school counselor if they aren’t certain about who or what they want to be.
3. Asks schools to provide uniforms that are non gender specific
a) allowing students to wear clothes they are comfortable in while still allowing the schools to have the benefits of a school uniform.
4. Invites for fashion brands especially those marketed to younger audiences to use people from the LGBTQ community in their adds, so that more people become open-minded
5. Welcomes more mentor groups where people from the LGBTQ can talk about struggles or just to relate, with a mentor that’s specialised supervision, online or in real life
a) focusing on young communities such as school… etc
b) When online platforms such as twitch, zoom… etc
c) When in real life, in cities or towns, places they can meet every week or month, possibly someone's house…
6. Proposes influencers and celebrities that are in the LGBTQ community, to openly talk about their problems they had to face when coming out.
a) So that it becomes more communion hope with it being fully accepted allowing o more and more people to express their sexuality
7. Requests for schools to talk to parents and raise awareness that if their child is in the LGBTQ community, but haven’t come out yet, when/if they do to support their child

8. Directs for teachers to educate and keep an eye on bullying due to
a) allowing to insure confidence in students, hopefully allowing student to express themselves
