The Ten Day Rule for 2024-2025
Transcript Cards (aka: "YELLOW CARDS") must be handed in to your counselor TEN SCHOOL DAYS before the deadline set by the college or university.
Prior to handing in a transcript card, you must hit submit on your application and pay the application fee on your end. We are not able to process your application until you have submitted your application electronically. Counselors need TEN SCHOOL DAYS to ensure that all forms are completed thoroughly and application materials reach the college on time. Please take into account school breaks and weekends as counselors are not in the office on those days.
Ready To Apply? Make sure you complete these important steps!
Hit submit on the application and pay the application fee.
Go into your Naviance account and "match" your Naviance account to your Common App (if using the Common App). In Naviance, click on colleges and then "Colleges I'm Applying To" - there should be a big red box that says "Match Accounts." Click on that box and enter the email address you used when you created your Common App account (not your Naviance account), along with your date of birth. When you hit submit it should tell you the match was successful. If you have difficulty completing this step, see your counselor.
Come to the Guidance Office and take a yellow card/transcript card for EACH school you are applying to. These cards require a parent signature. If you need any paper materials mailed to your school, paper clip them to the yellow card.
Hand in the yellow card/transcript card to the Guidance secretaries TEN SCHOOL DAYS before the application deadline at the college/university.
Sample Transcript Card - please use only OFFICIAL transcript cards from the Guidance Office
