A: Prep senior to Grade 12 will receive food services.
Q: How does my child pick their set options?
ES - For snacks, a variety of options are available, and students are encouraged to choose up to two items to help maintain their energy levels without overfilling. Lunch service features both Western and Asian cuisines and students can select from Sets A, B, C or Grab and Go. Full menus are available on our website.
MSHS - We offer a wide array of food options, from breakfast through to afternoon snacks. You can view our full menus directly on this website.
Q: How can I or my student pay for their food?
ES - Payment for ES Food Services can only be made through the Cashless Payment System, Vircle. Vircle is a convenient app on your phone that will allow you to top up your child’s spending allowance. Your child will then tap-to-pay at snack or lunch time with their ISKL ID Card. Please visit the ISKL Cashless Payment System website for more information about getting started with Vircle.

Q: How much does the food cost?
ES - Morning snack - RM 8 for two choices, while lunch cost RM 15 per set.
MSHS - Breakfast ranges from RM 4:00 to RM 8:00 while lunch ranges from RM 7 - RM 18
Q: What if my child doesn’t have enough funds in their Vircle account? Will they be able to eat?
ES - Of course! Your child will be put on an IOU process which means they still can get their meals and we will back charge accordingly after you have top up the money in Vircle. Therefore, please make timely top-ups in Vircle.

Q: How does my ES child pay for food?
ES - Students will be charged for food using their ID card.
Q: How does my ES child get their ID card?
ES - Student ID cards are placed in the respective classes. We do not release the cards to the ES students due to safety issues.
Q: Where can I or my child purchase food on campus?
A: You or your child(ren) can purchase food from the cafeteria. Please refer to the Maps and Hours on this website for the location of the cafeteria.
Q: Can students bring food from home?
A: Yes, they can.
Q: Can I bring hot meals and deliver them to my child?
ES - Yes you can. Please contact the ES office to arrange accordingly.
Q: Can I send in birthday treats or snacks in celebration of my child’s birthday?
ES - No. At this time, we are unable to share any food items between students even if it is store bought or packaged. This is to avoid any food contamination or possible health risk to our students. We encourage parents to donate a book to the library or make a donation to a charity organization in your child’s name and share with the class.
Q: Can my child bring nuts in their snack or lunch?
A: Yes they can eat on the “nuts okay” table in the cafeteria.
Q: Does the school serve beef for lunch?
A: Beef is served every day.
Q: Allergens: How can I tell if menu items contain allergens?
A: Allergens are displayed on the food tag at the counter.
Q: Can students order and eat at the coffee shop?
A: Only high school students are allowed to order takeaway from the coffee shop. Please do know that the food offerings in the coffee shop will also be made available at the Grab n Go counter in the MSHS cafeteria. This is accessible to the community other than high school students.
Q: Is Halal food served at ISKL?
A: No, but ISKL serves pork-free food.
Q: What nutritional guidelines does ISKL follow?
A: ISKL menu and nutrition guidelines are based on the Dietary American Guidelines 2020-2025, Malaysian Dietary Guidelines for Children and Adolescents 2013, and The National Healthy School Canteen Guidelines by Australia. Please refer to “About Us” on this website for the details of the nutritional guidelines.
Q: Who is ISKL’s food services vendor?
A: Elementary cafeteria is being operated by Sodexo. Middle High school cafeteria is operated by Ormond. The coffee shop and ES cafe are operated by Ormond too.

Q: Do students/ parents carry the ID card?
ES: Students will collect their ID cards in the cafeteria before they proceed to the payment counter. After payment, the card will be passed to the cashier. Students will not be collecting their ID cards back.
MSHS: Students will tap to pay at the cashier using their ID card. ID card should be kept with the students themselves.
Q: What happens if the card is lost?
ES: Lost card will be replaced with a new one by ES administration.
MSHS: Lost cards can be replaced at the Shared Services department with a penalty fee of RM 25.
Q: Are the students issued a new card every year?
A: No. Cards are kept from year to year.
Q: What happens if my child forgets his/ her card?
ES: Students are advised to inform the teachers, teaching assistant or ES staff present at the cafeteria.
MSHS: Students will not be able to purchase without a card. They can make their purchase with cash
Q: What happens if a student leaves ISKL?
A: The balance will be refunded into your account. Please ensure you have filled the exit form before leaving ISKL to facilitate the refunding process.
Q: How will I know if my child’s account is low on credit?
A: Check on the child’s available spending balance in the Vircle app.
Q: What should I do if I need to request for a refund on Vircle?
A: Please fill in this form and input the necessary details to request a refund. Refund will be processed and investigated by the relevant vendor.
