Recycling Plastic on Campus

During the 2017-2018 School Year we have chosen to try and build a fully operations plastic recycling worksop on campus customizing the "Precious Plastic" blueprints to for the Kenyan environment. Once we test and evaluate sustainability of the project on campus, our ultimate goal is to see if we can help a local community organization set up a similar project. Following the design cycle the current project has will include the following components:

• Sort out different plastics according to polymers so they can be recycled
  • Educate ISK community on plastics
• Build the plastic shredder machine
  • Test the machine / improve design
• Build the plastic compression machine
  • Test the machine / improve design
• Build the plastic injections machine
  • Test the machine / improve design
• Build the plastic extrusion machine
  • Test the machine / improve design
• Plan to create similar project off-campus
