Sustainable cities

The aim of this project was to learn about sustainable cities and Goal 11 of Agenda 2030. Agenda 2030 is a UN sustainable development program about people, the planet and its prosperity, that was signed in 2015 by the 193 member countries of the UN. It includes 17 common goals, with a total of 169 targets, including: the fight against poverty, the elimination of hunger, the promotion of gender equality and many other things among which "Sustainable cities and communities".

We focused on Goal 11: Sustainable cities and communities. The aim of Goal 11 is to reduce pollution in cities, in particular air quality and waste management. It also takes into account "urban development" which should be more inclusive and sustainable and must ensure that all have access to safe and inclusive public spaces, especially for elderly, women, children and people with disabilities. It must be also ensured access to safe, cheap living spaces and transport systems. This is the part our project focused on.
