The ISHCMC Orchestra

Greetings to our ISHCMC community, and Welcome to The ISHCMC Orchestra

The early beginnings of the ISHCMC orchestra started from a our violin classes and has now developed over time to become a whole school inclusive orchestra, starting from this year, 2021

This first year of our ISHCMC Orchestra will be an exciting time for all of us taking part.

Being part of an orchestra is much more than just practicing and performing. Being in an orchestra means being part of a team. Not only will your children have the incredible opportunity to develop their music skills, but also they will learn and realize how amazing it is to create harmony as a group.

I believe being part of our orchestra does more than making music. It changes the way students think and behave. The skills which members of our orchestra will learn will help them to be successful on the stage, in the classroom, and for the rest of their lives.

Participating in musical groups also promotes self-confidence, teamwork, social skills, social networking, a sense of belonging, self-discipline, a sense of accomplishment, cooperation, responsibility, commitment, mutual support, and friendship.

From the first day your children join our orchestra, they will become part of a functioning team that has a clear goal. We learn together that by playing our part, we can add to the greater goal of making fine music. This builds a strong skill set of skills that they can use going forward in their education and beyond.

We are planning to have as many concerts as possible throughout the year, which include Seasonal concerts such as a Christmas concert, graduation concert, charity concert co-hosted by outside institutions, such as UNICEF, and Heartbeat Vietnam. Our orchestra members will be able to realize how amazing it is to make a sound as a team and how wonderful it is to contribute to society by helping other people through a charity concert.

We are also planning to participate in any international competition program so that students have more opportunity to meet students from other countries.

The music we perform will cover all kinds of music, from classical, to contemporary, such as jazz, pop, movie soundtracks and so on, and the music will be arranged in an accessible and entertaining way.

I am thrilled to be a part of ISHCMC’s journey to create its first orchestra and look forward to the range of variety of things we can try together. We are open to anyone who loves music, please come and join.

I look forward to enjoying the music we create together.
