Overview

About the Program

Enrollment for instrumental and vocal lessons is for the whole school year (divided into two semesters).

Lessons will be taught by professionally qualified music tutors between the 8:00am – 5:00pm and will last for thirty minutes.

Lessons that are scheduled during the school day will change times slightly each week, so that the students do not miss the same academic lesson every week.

Please note that it is up to the individual student to ensure that they keep their classwork up to date and make up what they have missed if their instrumental lesson is scheduled during class time. It is important that before enrolling your child for instrumental lessons, that you consider whether they are coping well already with school life and academic learning. If you have any hesitations or concerns about the readiness of your child to take instrumental lessons and the balance with academics, your first point of contact will their class teacher. It is suggested that because of academic studies, students take a maximum of two lessons during school time, any additional lessons should be taken after the school day, and in consultation with the class teacher and the instrumental music department.

With regards to practice, it I the responsibility of the student and parents to keep the Instrumental Music Contact book up to date. This important portfolio provides us with a log of student learning and progress; it is a requirement of the Instrumental Music program that this log is completed regularly.
