Virtual Virtuosos
Virtual school has provided novel opportunities for teachers and students to explore new avenues for educational development outside the traditional classroom setting. Here are just a few examples of how this has been put into practice at SVS.
One of our teachers has organised a plethora of Virtual Visits for the classes throughout school. Virtual Visitors have included: authors, historical figures, illustrators, poets, scientists and storytellers. These visits have been a highlight of Virtual School and the children have had many amazing experiences. Virtual Visits are definitely something we will continue with when we are back in 'bricks and mortar'.
Be prepared to take risks and try new things, you won't know if something will be successful or not if you don't give it a try.
The Seesaw 'Class Blog' feature has given students the ability to interact with each other in a positive, safe way, inspiring compassionate action by celebrating each other's work and encouraging the students to leave positive comments (voice or written) on their peers' posts.
