Virtual Virtuosos

Virtual school has provided novel opportunities for teachers and students to explore new avenues for educational development outside the traditional classroom setting. Here are just a few examples of how this has been put into practice at SVS.

  • One of our teachers has organised a plethora of Virtual Visits for the classes throughout school. Virtual Visitors have included: authors, historical figures, illustrators, poets, scientists and storytellers. These visits have been a highlight of Virtual School and the children have had many amazing experiences. Virtual Visits are definitely something we will continue with when we are back in 'bricks and mortar'.

  • Be prepared to take risks and try new things, you won't know if something will be successful or not if you don't give it a try.

  • The Seesaw 'Class Blog' feature has given students the ability to interact with each other in a positive, safe way, inspiring compassionate action by celebrating each other's work and encouraging the students to leave positive comments (voice or written) on their peers' posts.
