通過文化連接彼此
多年來負責書院中文經典項目，今年非常榮幸能同時肩負起中華研究中心的工作。這是一個自然的延伸：書院的中文經典課程多年耕耘，已培養出一群熱愛中華文化、具備一定古典素養的學生；中華研究中心面向更大的社群，將透過舉辦文化講座及活動，更緊密地聯繫起學生、教師和家長。
自古以來，中華文化就是凝聚這片土地上的人心的核心力量。「中國」或「中華」，其文化內涵遠超政治概念。無論身處何方，人們總能因共同的文化認同而走到一起。文化傳承如同基因，在人生的某個階段，或早或晚，終將顯現。有人認為文化和經典是高不可攀的陽春白雪，但其實，文化只是一群人在時間長河中沉澱的生活方式和審美品格，它早已融入我們的生命體驗。在弘立這個中西文化交融的社群，中華文化也能與西方及其他文化相互交流、碰撞，從而更好地認識自我，取長補短。
新學年，中華研究中心將致力於成為一個平台和樞紐，以中華文化為紐帶，加強中心與弘立社群、以及社群成員彼此的聯繫。為此，我們規劃了一系列講座和活動，並將B620室改造佈置成多功能空間，供學生、教師和家長交流互動、體驗文化。空間雖小，卻已成功舉辦了教師間的「中華文化交流會」、面向家長的「中文經典讀書會」，以及學生的「中華文化」好學課程。
在規劃新學年的講座和活動時，我們注重參與和體驗，許多講座都融入了工作坊的元素，讓參與者可以透過親自動手來感受文化。此外，在電子化浪潮的衝擊下，漢字書寫面臨諸多挑戰。我們將繼續舉辦歷史悠久的「硬筆書法比賽」，以彰顯我們對漢字——這一中華文化核心元素的堅定承諾。下學期，我們還將繼續推動教師和家長的終身學習，開設一系列成人中華文化課程。
我們的最終目標是逐步建立一個中華文化網絡，凝聚認同並具有使命感的學生、家長和教師，在此基礎上，了解文化、認同文化，進而研究文化，最終將文化帶出校園，服務更廣大的香港社群。這正是中華研究中心所建立的使命所在。

Message from the Director of the Chinese Research Center
Connecting Through Culture
For years, I have been responsible for the Shuyuan Chinese Classics program, and this year, I am honored to also shoulder the responsibilities of the Chinese Research Centre (CRC). This is a natural extension. The Shuyuan Chinese Classics courses have, through years of dedicated work, cultivated a group of students who love Chinese culture and possess a certain level of classical literacy. The Chinese Research Centre, facing a broader community, will connect students, teachers, and parents more closely through cultural lectures and activities.
Since ancient times, Chinese culture has been a core force uniting hearts and minds. "China" or "Chinese," as concepts, are far richer in cultural connotations than political ones. Regardless of where they are, people are brought together by shared cultural identity. Cultural heritage is like a gene; sooner or later, it will manifest itself at some stage in life. Some believe that culture and classics are lofty and inaccessible, but in reality, culture is simply the lifestyle and aesthetic values accumulated by a group of people over time, and it is already deeply integrated into our life experiences. Within the ISF community, a place where Chinese and Western cultures blend, Chinese culture can also interact and engage with Western and other cultures, allowing us to better understand ourselves and learn from each other's strengths.
In the new academic year, the CRC will strive to be a platform and hub, using Chinese culture as a link to strengthen connections between the Centre and the ISF community, as well as among community members. To this end, we have planned a series of lectures and activities and have transformed and furnished Room B620 into a multi-functional space for students, teachers, and parents to interact and experience culture. Though the space is small, it has already successfully hosted the "Chinese Culture Exchange" for teachers, the "Chinese Classics Reading Group" for parents, and the "Chinese Culture" Hao Xue course for students.
When planning for the new academic year, we emphasize participation and experience. Many lectures incorporate workshop elements, allowing participants to experience culture through hands-on activities. Furthermore, amidst the impact of the digital wave, Chinese character writing faces many challenges. We will continue to hold our long-established "Penmanship Competition" to demonstrate our unwavering commitment to Chinese characters—a core element of Chinese culture. In the second semester, we will also continue to promote lifelong learning for teachers and parents by offering a series of adult Chinese culture courses.
Our ultimate goal is to gradually build a Chinese culture network, uniting students, parents, and teachers who identify with and have a sense of mission towards Chinese culture. On this foundation, we will understand, identify with, and further research this culture, ultimately extending its influence beyond the campus to serve the wider Hong Kong community. This is the very mission upon which the CRC is founded.
