Research Topics
「專題研究」屬於弘立書院中華研究中心的核心工作範疇之一。研究中心與不同的合作夥伴展開合作,其中包括弘立社群成員與國內外學者,通過對不同的題目深入研究,探討各種與中華文化相關的課題,為弘立書院與學術界建立雙向和具持續性的學術關係。
Research is one of the key domains of the missions of the ISF Chinese Research Center. Our Center partner with members of the ISF community as well as scholars from within and without Hong Kong to explore various topics related to Chinese culture with research potential.
2023–2024
「敦煌・世界」為弘立書院中華研究中心首個大型跨學年的全校項目,於2023年3月正式啟動。本項目結合弘立書院師生的敦煌學習(中小學、書院、聯課活動),與國內外學者和專家攜手探索多元的敦煌藝術與歷史文化,並得到香港敦煌之友與敦煌研究院的支持。活動包括線上線下講座,學生活動和展覽。(按此進入)
Dunhuang and the World is the first large-scaled, year-long, school-wide project launched by the CRC in March, 2023. The project brings together ISF students and teachers (Primary, Secondary, Shuyuan, CCA), local and international scholars, and organizations such as Friends of Dunhuang (HK) and the Dunhuang Academy to explore the intercultural art and history of Dunhuang. The project includes a series of hybrid lectures, student activities, and an exhibition. (Click here)
「二十四節氣」是中華民族傳統曆法的核心內容,是民族智慧的結晶,也是連結古今人民生活的紐帶。弘立幼稚園、弘立書院中小學和圖書館,每逢傳統節日都有不同的慶祝活動。為了增加整個弘立社群對二十四節氣的認識與關注,研究中心進行了一系列的推廣活動,其中包括「二十四節氣」大型展版、主題書籤和文件夾製作、每年派發年卡,並與書院合作製作以「二十四節氣」為主題的日曆。(按此進入)
24 Solar Terms are the basic structure of the traditional Chinese luni-solar calendar, which has a long history in China and is still used today, connecting the Chinese people from past to present. Various festivities take place at different traditional occasions across ISF, from pre-school to primary, and secondary, including the libraries. To promote deeper understanding of the solar terms and their relevance in our daily lives, CRC launched a series of events, including a number of large-scale exhibition panels, production of thematic bookmarks and folders, annual distribution of calendar cards, and assisted Shuyuan's production of the traditional desktop calendars. 「龍」為中華民族的圖騰,是代表中華民族的神話動物。適逢甲辰年為龍年,中心特別為此慶祝,製作以龍為主題的賀年卡,並與「書院」和小學部圖書館合作製作展板,為弘立社團介紹龍的歷史背景和文化意義。(按此進入)
Dragon is the totem symbol of the Chinese people and is recognized by the Chinese as the mythical animal par excellence. As 2024 is in fact the year of dragon, our Center creating a dragon-themed calendar card to celebrate the occasion and created an exhibition panel in collaboration with Shuyuan Chinese classics and Primary Library to enable the ISF community to learn more about the cultural history and significance of the Chinese dragon. 「華學」為著名香港學者饒宗頤先生提出的概念,即以中華文明為本,面向世界的國學研究。2023–2024學年,配合「敦煌・世界」主題,中心於2024年1月主辦「華南地域史與海上絲綢之路」工作坊,邀請本港十多名知名學者參與,以跨學科的視角共同探討香港、大灣區,以至周邊地區的歷史文化關係。(按此進入)
"Hua Studies" is a concept proposed by renowned Hong Kong scholar Prof. Jao Tsung-I. It is a kind of sinological studies that is rooted in Chinese culture and embraces the world at the same time. For the school year 2023–24, following the theme of Dunhuang, CRC organized a workshop entitled "Mapping South China and the Maritime Silk Roads". Over ten local scholars from a variety of disciplines were invited to explore the historical connection between Hong Kong, GBA, and the neighbouring regions. (Click here)
5.「經典導讀」是2023–24年下學期「中華文化體驗工作坊」的其中一個課程,由麥文彪博士策劃與教授。中心借此機會編制一套方便閱讀的『中華經典讀本』,其中包含『論語』、『大學』、『老子』、『心經』、『金剛經』等五部經典的導讀、中文原文與英譯等內容。網頁版則附上『讀本』電子版和各種網上學習資源,歡迎社會各界人士下載參閱。(按此進入)
"Introduction to Chinese Classics" is one the courses offered to the ISF community as part of the Chinese Culture Experiential Workshops organized by CRC in the second semester of 2023–24. The course was created and taught by Dr. Bill Mak. CRC took the opportunity to produce a Chinese Classics Reader to promote the study of Chinese classics. It includes classics such as the Analects, Great Learning, Laozi, Heart Sutra, and Diamond Sutra, with Chinese introduction, the original text, and English translation. The web version includes the PDF version of the reader, together with other online resources for further studies. Members of the public are welcome to download and make use of the materials. 6. 「經典教育與書院精神」是中華研究中心一個教育研究項目,目標是探討中華經典教育在弘立書院,以至在本港與華語社會所扮演的角色,面對的挑戰與未來發展的動向。研究項目包括4月19至20日舉辦的一系列研討會與學術活動,並與中文大學新亞書院和新亞研究所合作,邀請兩岸三地學者,與弘立書院的資深中文老師進行交流。(按此進入)

7.「莞香與香港史」是麥文彪博士的一項跨學科學術研究,研究領域包括植物學、科學史、本地歷史、中國史、世界史、絲路研究、古文獻學等多個範疇。2023年,研究論文曾於新加坡國立大學、劍橋大學、中國科技大學等多所高校發表。研究選題主要考慮到劍橋李約瑟研究所與弘立書院過去十年在科學史教育上建立的合作關係,還有弘立書院校園的特殊地理位置,為這個題目加深了意義。(按此進入)
"Aquilaria and the Origin of Hong Kong" is an interdisciplinary research project led by Dr. Bill M. Mak. It encompasses different areas of research including botany, history of science, Hong Kong history, Chinese history, world history, Silk Roads Studies, and philology. In 2023, Mak's research paper was read at various occasions at the National University of Singapore, Cambridge University (Peter Frankopan's Silk Roads Programme), and the University of Science and Technology of China. This topic was chosen in consideration of the partnership in the promotion of research in history of science between the ISF Academy and the Needham Research Institute during the past ten years, as well as the unique geographical location of the campus of the ISF Academy. 8. 「中華音樂教育@弘立」為一個策略性項目,目標是為弘立書院不同層次增強中華音樂的元素。項目除了給弘立書院師生更多接觸中樂的機會外(如音樂會和講座),還包括舉辦一場研討會,為音樂教育工作者、研究人員和專業人士提供一個交流的平台,主題涉及學童音樂教育的各個方面。(按此進入)
"Chinese Music Education @ ISF" is a strategic project that aims to enhance the elements of Chinese music at different levels of ISF Academy. In addition to giving teachers and students of ISF Academy more opportunities to get in touch with Chinese music (such as concerts and lectures), the project also includes organizing a seminar to provide a platform for music educators, researchers, and professionals to communicate on the theme covers all aspects of music education for schoolchildren.
