Important notes:
Please make realistic choices taking your interest, aspirations and your abilities/subject results into consideration. You must meet the minimum grades requirement set per subject/level.
Continuity of learning is strongly encouraged. Whenever possible, students will need to make choices so as to continue subjects they have studied so far in MYP. If a subject becomes at full capacity, then priority will be given to students who have had prior exposure to that subject
Please be aware that the school will not guarantee that any of the above subjects will run next school year until the total student numbers for each subject have been determined. Subject choices which do not meet the school's policy for the minimum student numbers will not run. In such cases, students will be guided to find an alternative subject choice. .
Please be aware that the subject package for each student is determined by the school following a thorough DP transition process. The decision on the subject package is made by the school and is final.
Choice of three sciences
The choice of studying a third science subject in place of an IaS subject is named a “ non-regular” Diploma by the IB. As such, it is subject to approval by both the school and the IB. This choice may be made only by students who wish to study medicine/veterinary science and some biology degrees in The Netherlands. The choice of three sciences may not include Design Technology/Computer Science or Sport, Excercise and Health science..
A student who wishes to take three sciences must meet the IB regulations and subsequently ensure the following:
Obtaining a consistent minimum level 6 out of 7 as an overall grade in the sciences throughout each reporting period for MP4 and MP5.
Within the grade above, obtaining a consistent grade 6 out of 8 for criterion A (knowing and understanding) and criterion C (processing and evaluating)
Providing evidence that the university of choice (to study medical sciences or other courses) requires to study 3 sciences in DP
Should applicants meet the requirements as described above, they will be invited to submit a letter of motivation to the DP Coordinator, Mr Bailly. The decision for approval will be made by the Curriculum Team and is final.
