Students currently studying in the Middle Years Programme in MP5 are accepted into the Diploma Programme on an individual basis at the International School Eindhoven. However general guidelines are based on:
A completed MYP school transcript in which they obtain a minimum of 25 points where each subject group has a grade of 3 or above. The 25 points comes from the following subjects: language and literature, language acquisition (or a second language and literature), individuals and societies (either geography or history), mathematics, sciences and one subject from either arts, physical and health education or design
A grade 3 or higher for the Personal Project; the candidate must complete and submit a Personal Project (PP)—an independently chosen, researched, planned, and completed project based on a personal learning and product goal. Work on the project is expected to occupy approximately 25 hours and must be done under the direct supervision of an appropriate teacher at the school.
The student must engage in a programme of extra-curricular activities known as Service as Action (SA). The student must reflect on, record, and report at least one local activity and one global activity approved by the SA Coordinator. SA programme evaluation may be completed by the regional offices of the IB.
Students have shown consideration to academic integrity
A commitment to learning.
A motivated attitude and a positive contribution to school life.
Prior reports, as well as mid-year report grades, are used as teacher's recommendations in order to determine suitability for MP5 students to be entered as full Diploma candidates and indicate standard and higher level courses .
The ISE could also offer the option of completing the Diploma over three years in specific cases, in particular for those students whose English language skills do not yet meet the demands of the Diploma. These students are integrated in the DP1 class and have a tailor made subject package in the first year to allow successful progression.
A three year Diploma typically comprises all six subjects at standard level in the first year. Students do not have to complete the extended essay or follow TOK in the first year and complete a comprised version of CAS.
