Students currently studying in the Middle Years Programme in MP5 are accepted into the Diploma Programme on an individual basis at the International School Eindhoven. However general guidelines are based on:
A completed MYP school transcript in which they obtain a minimum of 25 points where each subject group has a grade of 3 or above. The 25 points comes from the following subjects: language and literature, language acquisition (or a second language and literature), individuals and societies (either geography or history), mathematics, sciences and one subject from either arts, physical and health education or design
A grade 3 or higher for the Personal Project; the candidate must complete and submit a Personal Project (PP)—an independently chosen, researched, planned, and completed project based on a personal learning and product goal. Work on the project is expected to occupy approximately 25 hours and must be done under the direct supervision of an appropriate teacher at the school.
The student must engage in a programme of extra-curricular activities known as Service as Action (SA). The student must reflect on, record, and report at least one local activity and one global activity approved by the SA Coordinator. SA programme evaluation may be completed by the regional offices of the IB.
Students have shown consideration to academic integrity
The ISE recognizes that factors other than academic performance will also influence a student’s ability to be admitted to the DP programme. These could include: performance in ATL skills, absenteeism rate, academic integrity, extension requests, meeting deadlines, and frequency of resits. These can be holistically viewed as indicators of a student being ready or not ready to be promoted from MP 5 to DP, and a need to recognize that the student may or may not be coping with the current programme.
A commitment to learning.
A motivated attitude and a positive contribution to school life.
Each subject offered have a minimum MYP grade requirement to access the subject at Higher and Standard level. Students may apply for a particular subject only if they meet those requirements.
