The primary department groups have a weekly library session with one of our librarians. We focus on reading promotion, research skills, information literacy, literature appreciation and ethical use of information.
In the secondary department the librarians teach classes on academic integrity, citing and referencing. We support teachers and students in finding relevant information for study purposes but also for self-directed reading for pleasure.
Secondary language classes come to the library on a regular basis for reading time. Other subject classes use our resources and our library space for research, collaboration, and teaching.
Our focus is supporting the teaching and learning that happens in the classrooms. We also try to offer "windows to the world beyond", to help our students become well-rounded and well-informed citizens of the world.
Our 'third teacher' the library space with all it different sections and features plays a vital role in promoting learning to our whole community.
Our students and other users can find information and other materials, sit down comfortably to get lost in a book or share their findings with their peers.
The several teaching spaces are open but sheltered and the collaboration spaces inspire our users to develop ideas and talk them through, learning from and with their peers.
The library also serves as a place to showcase student learning, and to link to issues happening in the wider world.
