Building Committee

Following the completion of the Community Task Force's recommendations to the school board, community members were once again invited to join in to collaborate in forming a Building Committee that aimed to bring the recommendation to life. This group met on February 19th, March 12th, April 16th, and May 21st.

2.19.2025

The Committee reviewed multiple site configuration proposals, ultimately narrowing down to the most budget conscious design in adding an elementary addition on the south side of the current high school.

3.12.2025

The Committee reviewed site plans including the city's vacating 13th Street N and Hall Avenue for improved traffic flow, safe drop-off/pick-up, and parking. Other topics included athletic fields, theater, and interior finishes.

4.16.2025

The Committee worked to finalize a preliminary floor plan concept, reviewed budget estimates, and made final revisions for the site concept / design. A full recording of this meeting is available for viewing.

5.21.2025

The committee reviewed cost estimates to narrow the scope to reflect needs vs. wants, ultimately recommending to the Board to hold a $58 million bond referendum election to fund the school addition and renovations with a $600k capital projects levy to maintain programs.
