Following the failed referendum of 2021, the School Board carefully studied the results of a post-referendum survey; they slowed down, listening thoughtfully to what the community had to say.
On August 12, 2024, a recruiting letter for Community Task Force participation was shared with residents of Breckenridge, Brushvale, Doran, Everedell, Foxhome, McCauleyville, Kent, and Wolverton via social media and in the Wahpeton Daily News. Over 40 community members joined the committee and ultimately made recommendations to the School Board regarding the future of Breckenridge Schools.
Following the completion of the Community Task Force's recommendations to the school board, community members were invited to join in to collaborate in forming a Building Committee that aimed to bring the recommendation to life. This group met on February 19th, March 12th, April 16th, and May 21st.
