Physical Education
6th Grade
6th Grade PE
Description: A wide variety of activities are incorporated into the 6th grade curriculum. The focus is on skill building and lead-up games, as well as many fitness activities and cooperative learning activities (team building). The goal of the curriculum is to introduce students to a wide range of physical activities in order that they may improve their fitness level and value an active lifestyle.
7th Grade
7th Grade PE
Description: This class is designed to provide a wide variety of individual and team physical activities. Emphasis is on skill-building, cooperative learning, and fitness components. The main objectives of the class are to develop knowledge and skills of several activities, to improve physical fitness, and to instill the lifelong desire to be physically fit and lead an active lifestyle.
8th Grade

Description: This class is designed to provide a wide variety of individual and team physical activities. Emphasis is on skill-building, cooperative learning and fitness components. 6th Grade
6th Grade Health
Description: Sixth grade health students will receive a basic overview of Safety and First Aid. Topics include bullying, vaping, decision-making, stress management, coping skills and online safety. They will learn about emergency procedures including how to make a 911 call, how to handle a choking emergency, and the basic skills of First Aid.
7th Grade
7th Grade Health
Description:
This course is designed to motivate students to adopt and maintain positive healthy habits, which will improve not only the length, but also the quality of their lives. This class meets for 7 weeks.
Specific units include:
Mental Health(mental disorders, stress, suicide), Alcohol, Human Reproduction
8th Grade
8th Grade Health
Description: This 7 week health course has two major units. The first half of our class is designed to introduce the risks of using illicit drugs. The second half of the class will be a comprehensive abstinence-based sexuality unit.
Personal Fitness & Wellness
6th Grade
Personal Fitness & Wellness
Description: Personal fitness and wellness will be a hybrid class; mixture of in-classroom instruction and application of skills in physical activity setting. Students will actively apply classroom knowledge to real-life skill applications; therefore, enhancing self-efficacy within a variety of fitness and wellness components.
6th grade Personal Health and Wellness is a required Hexmester (6 week) course. This will be an introductory class that will be the foundation for students that elect to take Personal Fitness and Wellness in 7th and 8th grade. The 6th grade course will relate more to wellness concepts and the fundamentals of fitness.

Description: The goal of the Personal Fitness & Wellness course is to educate students on a variety of life and health related skills. These skills will support students to maintain and enhance a healthy lifestyle throughout adolescence and into adulthood. Students will be educated on how to critically think and evaluate health related resources, as well as independently make healthy decisions in all dimensions of their lives. A holistic and social-emotional learning approach will be implemented to ensure students acquire the knowledge and skill practice to enhance their physical, social and emotional health.
