New Prague High School offers several courses in a hybrid learning format. This is a class where time will be split between in-person and asynchronous learning. Fifty percent of the course will be in person with the teacher and peers. During the other fifty percent of the course, students will have opportunities to complete classroom activities in the classroom, under the direct supervision of a teacher, or in a more flexible environment outside of the classroom, where learning activities are most often posted on Google Classroom. Students may also be off-campus at this time with parental permission. Assignments completed in a flexible environment may be teacher-directed, teacher-facilitated, or student-directed. Students are more passively supervised if working in a flexible learning space, or students may not be required to be on campus during that time. Hybrid classes allow students to manage their workflow and pace and to advocate for themselves with the support of their teacher. Students who fall behind the minimum pacing expectations must attend class in person until they are caught up. Students with have a grade of 70% or less will be required to attend all classes in person. Students who do not maintain minimum pacing requirements may be moved to a traditional in-person learning course or must attend every day.
As a reminder, the course selection process is used to collect data on the number of students interested in each course. Hybrid courses will be included in student schedules when enough students register for a specific hybrid course offering. There is no guarantee that a specific hybrid course will be offered during the 2024-2025 school year.
