Varsity Head Coach

I am a social studies teacher at East (over 25 years in the district) and mom of two daughters - both former EVB athletes. Over the years, I've coached volleyball on a variety of levels, including 13-17s JO/Club, high school 9th grade and JV. As a teacher, parent and a coach, it's been a privilege to help young people develop as learners and see their value as part of a team and community. I have had the great fortune to coach with a lot of great people over the years, including this year's East coaching staff. I value everything I have learned from all of them.

Junior Varsity Coach

Nikoli was born and raised in Duluth, graduating from Marshall High School in 2009. His sister's love of the sport, and need for a regular pepper partner, got him into the volleyball world. He played for 6 years at Michigan Tech, mostly as a setter for the Men's Club Team.  This is also where he got his start coaching , working at Finlandia University and Michigan Tech as an assistant coach and practice player for 4 years. Upon returning to Duluth he continued coaching, joining the Duluth East program in 2016. He served as an  JV coach, an Assistant coach, and Varsity head coach for 3 years.
