College Courses

Battle Lake School offers several concurrent enrollment courses. Starting in Fall 2019, a total of 28 college credits can be earned in college courses taught by BL faculty.

Students who are eligible will receive dual-credits (high school & college credit) for the course.

College courses offered at Battle Lake are from the following schools:

Minnesota State Community and Technical College: Concurrent Enrollment Program (CEP)

University of Minnesota Crookston: College in the High School (CIHS)

Eligibility requirements are below. These classes should transfer to most colleges.

Most courses are general electives (common classes required for four year degree programs).

Concurrent Enrollment Courses offered at Battle Lake School for the 2019-2020 school year include:

  • College Writing I & College Writing II (ENG 1101 & ENG 1102: 6 credits)
  • Introduction to Literature: Novels & Environmental Literature (ENG 2236 & ENG 2230: 6 credits)
  • 20th Century (American History) (HIST 1202: 3 credits)
  • World History I & World History II (HIST 1021 & HIST 1022: 6 credits)
  • College Chemistry (CHEM 1001: 4 credits)
  • College Pre-calculus (MATH 1250: 3 credits)

Click below for more information on eligibility for college courses. Some students may need to take the Accuplacer. Others will qualify by their GPA, MCA, and/or ACT scores.
