✓ Safe and Secure Entryways

• • • Build a new secure pass-through entry vestibule.

    • Renovate the main office to support new secure entry. 

• • • Relocate the reception desk to the front of the building adjacent to the new safe and secure entry vestibule. 

      • • The new location will allow for a pass-thru entry system in which visitors enter the vestibule and then buzz for entrance into the relocated reception area. Visitors check in at the reception desk for admittance into the building.

    • Create a new dining commons space that can be utilized by students, staff, and the community.

    • WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

      • • The safety and security of our students, staff, and visitors are our number one priority at Battle Lake Schools. 

        • School safety and security standards recommend all visitors enter the school directly through a school office, where they can be registered, and school officials can verify the intent and destination before having any access to the building. 

        • Our current entrances do not align with these standards. Meeting this standard practice will require reconfigurations of our school offices and entryways. 

✓ Ventilation and HVAC Systems

• • • Replace existing air handling units with new units designed to provide required heating, cooling, and ventilation. 

    • Install condensing units in order to provide dehumidification.

✓ ADA Compliance

• Upgrade existing locker rooms, restrooms and doors to be ADA compliant.

  • • ADA compliant restrooms, locker rooms and doors in schools are essential for promoting inclusivity, ensuring legal compliance, fostering a safe and respectful environment, and enabling individuals with disabilities to fully participate in school activities. 

    • ADA compliancy contributes to a more equitable and supportive educational experience for everyone. It is an investment in the well-being and success of ALL members of the school community.
