Replace waste delivery system piping.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
The 1962 and 1968 portions of the building have original piping that is outdated, deteriorating, and creating system back-ups and leaks.
Old piping that is located underneath classrooms, locker rooms, and cafeteria will be abandoned in place, and new piping will run under the corridors and into the spaces (where necessary).
Upgrade outdated electrical systems
Replace old electrical panels and distribution systems in the 1962 and 1968 portions of the building with new electrical distribution to meet NEC standards, present loads, and anticipated future electrical needs.
Replace the current fire alarm system with a new voice-annunciated, addressable system.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
Upgrading outdated electrical systems in schools is a strategic investment that enhances safety, reliability, cost-saving energy efficiency, and technological capabilities that contribute to an improved learning environment for students.
Replace existing diesel generator.
The new generator is to be installed in the same location as the existing generator.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
Replacing the existing diesel generator with a new diesel generator provides supplemental power to the building more efficiently and reliably.
Replace existing three boilers with new hot water condensing boilers.
Replace the domestic water heater with a new high efficiency heater.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
Replacing the deteriorating boilers and hot water heater will improve system reliability and energy efficiency.
