Update and reconfigure CTE shops and classrooms to suit current and future programming needs.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
The current CTE space is outdated and lacking the tools and machinery needed to help students learn and practice critical 21st Century skills.
We need to properly prepare our students for career opportunities in response to the growing demand for skilled trades in construction/woods, manufacturing, automotive, agriculture, and family and consumer science.
CTE programs benefit all students and help them gain employment and life skills, technical knowledge, and the training they need to thrive in the workforce of tomorrow.
CTE and career-ready programs offer the greatest chance for students sticking with school, graduating, and pursuing a career right out of high school, or choosing to enroll in college.
Remodel the media center to provide students with resources and technology to improve teaching and learning.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
The new center will provide much-needed additional collaboration and/or breakout space, as well as updated technology to support students and online or distance learning opportunities.
Remodel computer lab/Makerspace and remodel digital lab to support programming needs.
Update space to support STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) and Makerspace programming to include equipment, materials and tools that promote innovation and creativity.
Add new finishes, flexible furniture, and power distribution to support programming.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
Our classrooms and labs are outdated and limit our ability to incorporate the latest technology and equipment needed to offer critical real-world, hands-on learning opportunities. Expanding or updating these spaces would increase and enhance program offerings for all students.
Create a music suite within the new building addition.
Remodel existing band room into choir room, practice rooms, and storage.
Create new weight and fitness room, receiving area, changing rooms, and restrooms.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
The existing band room is inadequate in size, featuring a tiered floor that raises accessibility concerns. Additionally, the ceiling height falls below the recommended standards.
The choir room is situated in a regular outdated classroom, which restricts collaboration and sharing of resources.
The current weight room is situated inconveniently on the stage within the gymnasium, suffering from severe space constraints and limited accessibility.
Music programs play a crucial role in fostering cognitive, emotional, and social development among students while enhancing the overall school environment. They provide opportunities for self-expression, creativity, teamwork, and personal growth that contribute to well-rounded individuals and thriving schools.
