Course Description: Life Skills is designed to increase student knowledge and skills necessary for everyday living. The course emphasizes goal-setting, decision making, problem solving, and communication. In this course students will learn basic life skills that will help them pursue goals for living independently. They will gain knowledge and skills to help them achieve appropriate independence in areas of home care and maintenance. Students will gain hands on lab experiences in caring for house plants and pruning trees. Students also learn how to manage money, create graphs, understand grocery store pricing, and the basics of rulers and common measurements.
