Mr. Sievert

Welcome! My name is Michael Sievert and this is my 3rd year at Keewatin Elementary teaching 6th grade. I have a K-6 Elementary teaching license, as well as a 5-8 Middle School Social Studies teaching license. I have a passion for reading and learning about the past and how we got to where we are today, and I am excited to share that enthusiasm with our students this year. We'll be covering a wide range of topics as we journey through the history of our region and our great state of Minnesota, and we will continue with our goal of helping each student become an avid and enthusiastic reader and writer in preparation for their future careers. I value giving students experiences that are challenging and have real world applications, and I look forward to our growth this year. Please feel free to share any ideas or feedback with me.

On a personal note, I was born and raised in Minnesota, and currently live in Grand Rapids , but I spent 6 years working overseas as a teacher and administrator. I love experiencing places that are a bit less traveled and outside most people's usual comfort zone. I also enjoy boating, camping, and being outdoors, and I am currently over halfway through my goal of visiting every MN State Park. I enjoy spending time with my family and watching my alma mater; Go Gophers!
