Interactive Binders

Interactive Math Binder (IMB)

Your new BFF

I expect you to keep your interactive binder…

  • up-to-date and complete
  • neat and organized
  • labeled and dated
  • clean and well-cared for

TIP: In order to be successful, you must bring your interactive binder to class every day. If you take it home to study, finish an entry, or help with homework, you must remember to bring it back to school the next school day.

Your interactive binder will…

  • help you stay organized
  • make class notes easier to understand
  • allow you to be more successful in math
  • become a personalized textbook
  • be a great reference and study tool
  • help you become rich and famous just checking ☺

What if I lose my binder? Please don’t.

  • You will need to work on your own time until you have created a replacement.

Is my interactive binder graded?

  • Yes! I will check your binder at least once a quarter. If your binder is up-to-date, each entry is complete, entries are neat and organized, labeled and dated, and the binder is clean and well-cared for, you will receive a full 16 points. Please see Interactive Math Binder Rubric for more details.

How is an interactive binder different from a regular notebook?

  • Traditional notebooks tend to be unorganized, confusing, and missing critical pieces. You may not always understand what your notes mean. In a nutshell, they are boring :(

  • Your interactive binder will be your most valuable tool this year. Notes, strategies, example problems, and new ideas will be presented in a clear manner that you will be able to use as your own personal “how to” guide to 6th grade math. It will help you master standards and keep you engaged during class.

What if I’m absent? What, and miss all the fun?

  • Please check the assignment board to pick up the notes and activities for any entries you missed.
