Hearing, Vision & Maturation

Various health screenings are done in various years. These are done in accordance with recommendations by the State of Minnesota Health Department.

Additional students may be screened in years other than the grade listed, depending on previous screening results.

Vision and Hearing Screening:

Grades KG, 1, 3, 5, 7 (Vison only) (September)

Grade 2 (Vision only)  (September)

Other students may be screened for hearing by parent or teacher request.  If you have concerns about your child's hearing and/or vision and they are not in a grade that is scheduled to be screened, please let me know and I will add them to the list.   

Vision re-screening will be done the same day as screening by another screener. Hearing re-screening will be done about 2-3 weeks after the initial screening.  If your child does not pass, you will receive a letter recommending further evaluation.  You will receive notification after screening ONLY if further evaluation is recommended. 

Maturation

The maturation presentation will be held in March for 5th grade girls and boys. Prior to the presentation, a parent consent form will be sent home with your child. If you would like to view the video before the presentation, please contact Mrs. Olstad.
