Welcome!

 I grew up in Lake City, MN where I graduated high school in 2007. I graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education K-8 in 2011 and from St. Mary's University with a Masters Degree in Literacy Education/Reading Specialist Certificate in 2016. My hobbies are to run, swim, bike, play/watch sports, fish, and travel! I also enjoy coaching Track and Field for PEM.   

     I'm very excited to be teaching back in my home area, and to meet my students for the 2022-2023 school year!  Be ready for a fun and exciting school year in Reading Club!

In Reading Club we follow the Fountas and Pinnell Reading program LLI (Leveled Literacy Intervention).  In this program we read captivating books specifically written for this program.  While reading new books everyday, we also focus on vocabulary, fluency, decoding, and comprehension skills.  Students may also see Miss Breyfogle in an additional small group time to work on fluency and phonemic awareness by using Read Naturally Live or other programs to help with these skills.  Our biggest focus in Reading Club is to create a LOVE of READING!  The best way to help your child in their reading is to spend time reading with them and encouraging them to find books that interest them.
