Distance Learning

Extra Learning Activities

Along with the weekly “At Home Learning Calendar,” if your student would like to keep their mind growing, I will include extra activities displayed on a BINGO board. Their goal is to try and see how many BINGO’s they are able to get. There are also a lot of other learning resources available to you right in your own home. The following are just a few ideas to help children transition to distance learning and provide engaging learning activities:

  • Make up fun dress up days each week for your student(s). For example: pajama day, crazy sock day, color days, sport day, etc.

  • Let them be part of the planning by talking to them about what they will be working on each day.

  • Include one hour of outside activity. The sun is great for their immune system.

  • Spend time reading together.

  • Designate daily chores for your student to do.

  • Have your student cook something with you. A lot of math can be done in the kitchen!

I miss all of your students so, so much! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with questions or concerns.

Thank You,

Ms. Hurtz

Audible Stories is another great free resource to access books! It is absolutely fabulous and since it has books from Pre-K through teens, it's good for any level. You can listen to these books on almost any device. Enjoy!
