ACT TEST INFORMATION & RESOURCES

All Kennedy High School juniors will take the in-school ACT at school on Wednesday, April 7, 2027 during the school day. Students are automatically registered and there is no fee.

ACT also offers national test dates throughout the school year. The standard ACT registration fee is $70, with additional fees for the optional Science and Writing sections.

Students who qualify for an ACT fee waiver may have the registration fee and optional sections covered. Kennedy High School students are encouraged to make an appointment with their counselor to learn more.

DECA ACT Practice Tests: Looking for extra ACT practice? Bloomington Public School's DECA Club is offers practice ACT tests and optional test-review sessions at Jefferson High School throughout the school year. Open to all Kennedy and Jefferson students.

Optional Test Review: $50, held the day after each test

Registration for each test and review session will open approximately one month before the test date.

SAT TEST INFORMATION & RESOURCES

College Board offers SAT national test dates throughout the school year. The standard SAT registration fee is $68. Additional fees may apply for late registration or other services.

Students who qualify for an SAT fee waiver may have the registration fee and optional sections covered. Kennedy High School students are encouraged to make an appointment with their counselor to learn more.

PSAT TEST INFORMATION

Kennedy High School will offer the PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) to interested 10th and 11th grade students on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. This is an optional test, but one we encourage students to consider. It will be offered only once.

Here’s why it matters:

11th grade students who take the PSAT may qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program, which offers academic recognition and scholarship opportunities. The test is also a great way for students to practice for college entrance exams, assess their college readiness, and receive feedback in reading, writing, and math.
10th grade students can use the test as a practice opportunity to gain early exposure to college entrance exams and identify areas of academic strength and growth. 10th grade students may take the test again as 11th graders.

The cost is $18, which will be charged to your student's Campus account. If you would like to inquire about fee assistance, please see your counselor or Ms. Jennings.

Important Registration Deadlines:

Tuesday, September 4, 2026 for students requesting testing accommodations (based on an IEP or 504 Plan, or needing language support).
Friday, September 25, 2026 for all other students

PSAT Information for Test Takers:

ACCUPLACER TEST INFORMATION

The ACCUPLACER is a placement test used by many colleges to assess students’ skills in areas such as reading, writing, and math. Colleges may use ACCUPLACER scores to determine which courses are the best fit for a student and whether placement in developmental or college-level courses is appropriate.

ASVAB TEST INFORMATION

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a career exploration and aptitude test used by the military. It helps students learn more about their strengths and interests while also determining eligibility for military service and identifying career fields that may be a good fit.
