The 2026 Marching Season is just around the corner!
Marching Band begins on August 10th! Here are a few important items to take care of before practice begins:
1) Register and pay fees after July 15th. Per MSHSL guidelines, students will not be allowed to practice/perform until their registration is complete. See the online registration section (below) for more specifics.
2) Request a school-owned instrument if you will need one for the season. Follow THIS LINK to request and pay for an instrument.
3) Download the Band App to your mobile device. This will be our primary form of communication for short messages or time-sensitive notifications. Follow this"2026 JMB" INVITE LINK, and please use your first and last name when you sign up.

ONLINE REGISTRATION
There are two primary fees: the MSHSL Activity fee $165, and the uniform fee $55 (band) or $60 (flags). Both fees need to be paid prior to August 10th. LINK TO 2026 FEES
You will need to pay each fee separately using the online EduTrak payment system. HERE are instructions for use of the payment system in the event that you haven't used it before.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
It is our sincere goal to make the Jefferson Bands accessible and equitable for all students. If any of the listed fees will be a financial hardship for your family, please fill out the Request For Fee Reduction Form and submit to Stephanie Kasel in the Activities Office (skasel@isd271.org).

The Band will perform in the Minnesota State Fair Parade is on Thursday, August 27th.
All participating marchers need to fill out the permission form by Wednesday, August 19th.

The Jefferson Band Booster Club (JBBC) contributes greatly to the success of our marching band via volunteerism and fundraising.
We ask that all marching band families to join the JBBC.
Only JBBC members are eligible for escrow account fundraising.
On Saturday, September 19th, our marchers will perform alonside the University of Minnesota Marching Band at the annual "Band Day".
All participating marchers need to fill out the permission form by Friday, August 14th.
The fee to participate is still to be determined (approx. $20+ expected).

*** IMPORTANT STUDENT SAFETY NOTICE ***
Teacher/Advisor supervision of marching band students will end immediately following all rehearsals and performances.
Please carefully coordinate the pick-up or departure of student performers to align with the ending times of all marching band events. This notice is in place for the awareness of all parents/guardians and the safety of all students.
