You must pass the ParaPro exam (reading, writing, math). Take a ParaPro training class (recommended) or self-study for the exam.

The Title I courses are in the areas of Mathematics Skills, Reading Skills, Supporting Instruction and Writing Skills. These courses will automatically be assigned to you. It is estimated that the courses take 8-12 hours to go through.
Assessments will then need to be completed, with 70% accuracy, to be considered highly qualified.
Cost: Highly qualified courses and assessments ( $79); PD courses only - no assessment ($59); Each additional assessment re-take ($20)

The Education Fellowship provides an inclusive and affordable pathway to teaching through AmeriCorps service for members who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. Members earn their associate’s degree in early childhood or elementary education at Minneapolis College while serving in the Early Learning (PreK) or K-3 Reading Education Fellowship program.
Members in this cohort earn a stipend of $1,000 paid every two weeks, earn an associate’s degree in education at no or little cost, and receive career counseling support, and many more benefits as an AmeriCorps member!
