Meet Ms. Worek, the adviser of the Butte Saga! She took the reins in 2023 with zero yearbook experience but unlimited enthusiasm. A proud Rowan University (NJ) grad with degrees in English and the Science of Teaching, she brings her love of graphic design and candid photography to the team. Under her guidance, the yearbook staff dives into photography, copywriting, design, sales, money management, social media, and even public relations — basically, everything it takes to make Butte Saga the best it can be.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Students learn to capture high-quality images, mastering composition, lighting, and storytelling through photos. They cover a wide range of school events, practicing both candid and posed photography. Students learn how to use and care for industry grade cameras and photo editing software.
GRAPHIC DESIGN
Students work with design software to create page layouts, balancing text, images, and graphics in a visually appealing way while adhering to a cohesive theme and aesthetic for the entire book. Students also collaborate with field professionals to design the front and back cover art, pairing it with enhancing materials and effects.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Managing yearbook-related social media accounts hones students’ skills in creating engaging content, scheduling posts, and maintaining a cohesive brand image across platforms.
MARKETING & SALES
Students gain experience promoting the yearbook through campaigns, learning strategies for targeting different audiences, managing budgets, and using persuasive messaging to boost sales.
