Lettering
Lettering is determined by a point earning system.
10 points or more are needed to letter.
The points are earned using the standards below.
1) Participation and Attendance
All runners are expected to follow the attendance polices. An unexcused absence or tardy will result is minus one ( -1 ) point for each occurence. Leaving a meet early without 24 hour notice and clear communication -1 point. Coming to practice and completing practice as prescribed by the coach is considered "attending practice." Not completing practice is equal to unexcused absence.
2) PLACING Performance
Team placing, using time comparison
1st- 3rd place = 5 points
4th- 5th place = 4 points
6th- 7th place = 3 points
8th-10th place = 2 points
11th-14th place = 1 point
Example: Chris runs a 17:57 in the Varsity 5k race. Pat runs a 17:55 in the 5k JV race. Pat placed higher than Chris for team place finish.

Please see all other areas of this handbook that explain the details of these requirements and expectations of the team members.
