Unit 6:Congruence & Similarity

In this unit, students will learn about congruence and similarity. Students will identify congruent figures, and prove triangles congruent. They will also identify similar figures and proved triangles are similar. In the similarity portion of the unit students will review concepts such as ratios, proportions, scale factors and geometric means to solve geometry problems. Also, students use proportions and the Triangle Proportionality Theorem or it's converse to find the lengths of segments related to triangles or parallel lines. Finally, students will perform transformations. They will conduct congruent transormations including translations, reflections & rotations; and dilations which produce similar figures.
