In this unit, students will find angle measures in polygons. They will investigate properties of parallelograms and learn what information they can use to conclude that a quadrilateral is a parallelogram. Students will also study special quadrilaterals such as rhombuses, rectangles, squares, trapezoids and kites. Students will also develop and use formulas for the area of triangles, parallelograms, trapezoids and other polygons. T Students explore circles, relating arc lengths and circumferences to areas of sectors, and they develop and use a formula for the area of a regular polygon.
