Each year Minnesota teachers and librarians work as a group to nominate new titles for this student choice award. This group is called MYRA - Minnesota Youth Reading Awards.

Here are this year's nominees for the Star of the North: Best Picture Book. Students across the state are reading these books now and the vote will takes place the end of March.

All students grades K-2 are invited to read or have these books read to them and vote the end of March! Ms. Levasseur will send teachers the poll to collect student votes then. Students must've read or have been read at least 8 of the 10 titles to vote in March.

We have three copies of each of these titles just for teacher checkout class read-alourds.

Teachers, please use the self-serve checkout sheet in the Benchmark to sign in/out your copies and have fun reading with your class!
