Meet the Teacher

Mr. Waterworth has taught at St. Francis Middle School since 2003. During his time at SFMS, he has taught American History, 6th Grade Minnesota History, and Life Skills classes.

In addition to teaching, Mr. Waterworth has been involved in coaching athletics in St. Francis Area Schools since 2003. He served as a boys basketball coach for many years before becoming the head coach of the girls basketball team in 2025. During his time with the basketball program, the Saints advanced to the state tournament in 2014, 2015, and 2023. The 2023 team earned the highest state finish in school history, and Mr. Waterworth was named Minnesota Class 5AAA Coach of the Year.

Along with basketball, Coach Waterworth has also coached football, softball, and baseball in St. Francis.

Mr. Waterworth and his wife live in St. Francis with their two daughters, who both attend St. Francis Area Schools. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, bow hunting and fishing whenever possible.
