Class Description

7th Grade United States History 

This yearlong course gives students a broad overview of U.S. history—from the pre-Civil War period to the present day. Throughout the year, students will strengthen skills in history, geography, economics, and civics by analyzing maps, exploring primary sources, engaging in discussions, and thinking critically about how the past connects to the world today.

This is a required course for all 7th graders and includes a variety of engaging topics such as:

• Current events

• The Civil War and Reconstruction

• Westward expansion and industrialization

• Progressive reforms

• Economic growth and imperialism

• Social and cultural change

• America’s evolving role in the world

We’ll use our textbook, historical documents, news articles, videos, and interactive resources to dive into the key events, people, and movements that have shaped the United States.
