Write a 2-minute opening speech that presents your country to the committee. Your speech should clearly outline the main policy your country supports on the conference issues, and call the audience towards taking action. Before the conference The ISCMUN Executive Committee will select the delegates in the General Assembly who will give an opening speech before the first debate starts. ALL Security Council delegates will give an opening speech.
Write your speech in the following structure:
Hook: An engaging way to grab your audience’s attention: a statistic, a quote, a short story. Introduce your country to the audience.
Point: Your country’s policies on the conference issues: explain what your country believes about the conference issues, and explain why by connecting it to your country’s history and current events.
Call to Action: Call all delegates to take action. For example, to collaborate to find a solution for one of the issues.
Apart from the opening speeches, delegates should also prepare speeches in favour/against resolutions and amendments.
