Exhibits and Markets

Basel’s cultural scene includes both permanent and temporary exhibitions, as well as markets celebrating creativity, art, and nature. Museums participate in Basel Free Museum Day on the first Sunday of each month, granting free general admission. Seasonal markets, such as the Creative Market in Rheinfelden and the Plants Market at Markthalle, showcase local artisans, garden enthusiasts, and craftspeople.

Art exhibitions feature international and historical collections, including the Northern Lights exhibition in Riehen, the collection at Fondation Beyeler, and photography highlights like Wildlife Photographer of the Year at the Natural History Museum Basel.
