Brainstorm your idea or topic with your team member
Pitch the idea to your teacher (tell her what are you planning to do)
Write/adopt a screenplay (Criterion B, Strand iii)
Create a storyboard manually or digitally (Criterion B, Strand iv)
Create a mood-board (Criterion B, Strand ii)
Screenplay, storyboard, and moodboard should be a separate documents saved in your Film folder. Research could be either in a separate document or typed directly in your portfolio.
In your design portfolio:
Criterion A: Inquiring and Analysing
Strand i - Need for a solution:
Explain what you going to create (identify type, genre and/or style of the script written).
How do you plan to make this film?
Explain why you should create a film for a specific target audience.
Did you figure out whom you will work with (if anyone).
Write your name and your crew members names and their role(s).
Strand ii - Research plan
Your plan should include three to five research questions. For each question specify:
1. Area of Research
2. Research Question
3. Reason
4. Research type (primary/secondary)
5. Priority

Research Question - How do different camera shots/angles depict a film differently?
Reason - This will help me understand how I will use the camera to shoot my films.

Strand iii - Product analysis:
Analyze 2-3 stop-motion-animation films of your choice (3 to 15 minutes). The analysis should contain the following elements for each film:
a) a link to the film
b) camera shots/angles
c) light
d) sound
e) genre
f) scenography (setup/props/costumes)
g) video editing (title/credits, transitions, composition)
Strand iv - Design brief:
The Design brief should include specific details like:
* What do you need to accomplish?
* What are your goals for this project?
* Who’s your target audience?
* What message your film has for your target audience?
* Short summary of your research
Criterion B: Developing Ideas
Strand i - Design specification:
Design specification (success criteria) should include the following:
a) duration, genre, time (historical time, period), sound (focus on originality/permission), setting, characters, target audience, deadline
Strand ii - Sketches:
Include a link to your mood-board.
Strand iii - Present chosen design:
a) Comment on why you decided to select this film for your film project.
b) Include a link to your screenplay.
Strand iv - Planning drawing:
Include a link to your storyboard.
When filming outside of the class, please consider:
the necessity to reduce distraction
the proximity to the classroom
the ability for teacher to check
