My Topic is: How can God be three persons?

I am researching this topic because i find my question (How can God be three persons?) an interesting topic and it will help us discover the truth about the trinity which is a controversial topic with different sects of Christians believing in different things about the existence of God as three persons.

I want to use it because it shows the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.

What does the bible say about the trinity?

In the bible the term trinity is not mentioned but there are different concept of the trinity mentioned in the bible. Below are three examples are three references in the bible to the concept of the trinity.2 corinthians 13:14 May the grace of the lord Jesus christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy spirit be with you all.

1 corinthians 8:6 Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.
Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

What is not true about the trinity?

Christians don’t believe that there are three Gods
Christians don’t believe that the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit are three forms of God
“Christian don’t believe that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are “parts” or “pieces” of God. That would imply that Jesus is 1/3rd God, the Father is 1/3rd God, and the Holy Spirit is 1/3rd God.”

Is Christianity Monotheistic Or Polytheistic?

The difference between monotheism and polytheism is that monotheism is the belief in one God, and polytheism is the belief in many Gods. Christians believe in one God.

What do different sects believe?

Mormonism: They are what we refer to as latter day saints, they believe that God has a physical, flesh and bones,eternal, perfect body.

Jehovah’s Witness- They believe that God is one person, that also believe that Jesus is not God, nor part of the Godhead.

Christian science: They believe the trinity is life, truth and love, they think God is the only thing that truly exists.

What is the Trinity and where was it mentioned in the bible?

The word trinity means the three persons of the christian Godhead.It also means that there is one God who eternally exists as three distinct Persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is one in essence and three in person. God the Father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit are all equal, but he is not three Gods, God in three persons does not mean that there are three Gods, It means that God the Father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit are distinct beings, they all do different things but they are one God. God is sometimes called the Father, sometimes Son, Sometimes Spirit, depending on what he is doing or how he is acting.

The term trinity is not found in the bible. The trinity teaches us that "God is beyond all human comprehension", if we could explain God he would not be God. The doctrine is not mentioned in the old testament or the new testament .

Analogy of the Trinity

“The Trinity is like water. Water can be a liquid, a solid (ice), or a gas (steam), but it's still only one thing water, this example can't fully explain the Trinity. God is greater than we can fully understand. “

Explanation of what you have learned

What i have learnt is when people say God can be three persons they mean the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are real beings each is fully God, each person of God does different things but they are one. The trinity is in the bible.

Explanation of what was easy/difficult about what you learned

The things that were easy to learn were that God in three person mean that the father, the son and the Holy Spirit are real human being and they all do different things. The Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Spirit, the Spirit is not the Father, but each is God individually.

The things that were difficult to learn were to interpret the my research sometimes i had to find the explanation of what I don't understand.

When was the Trinity invented?

The first time the doctrine of the trinity was recorded was in the early 3rd century by the early church father Tertullian, a Latin theologian.Theology is the study of the nature of the divine. Tertullian, in the early 3rd century is credited as being the first to use the Latin words "Trinity” to explain that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are "one in essence—not one in Person”

In conclusion

The Bible teaches that there is one eternal God who exists. He is the Creator and of the universe. One God are three Persons.They are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three Persons are equal but do different things.They are also distinct from one another. These three distinct persons are one God. Everything that is true about God is true about the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Therefore, God is one but three in Persons.

I think most people think of God as three person as there are three Gods but there are not three Gods. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all one God. The three members of the Trinity have different things to do, from what I read about the trinity i think it is enough evidence to let me believe that there are not three Gods, after this study I am now convinced about the existence of the trinity. The Bible says the father is God, the son is God and the Holy spirit is God so therefore they are all Gods.
