In today's fast-paced world, where technology is constantly evolving and information is everywhere, our education system needs to keep up. We're here to prepare students for the future by equipping them with the skills they need: adaptability, creativity, independent thinking, and a love for lifelong learning. The goal is to help them make informed and responsible decisions as they navigate their opportunities.
Careers Guidance is a journey that evolves throughout a person's life, and it plays a key role during school years. It's more than just helping students pick subjects or careers – it's woven into the curriculum. Through Careers Guidance, students build self-awareness, personal planning skills, goal-setting abilities, and reflective thinking. This helps them make decisions that align with their interests, strengths, and goals. It's all about setting them up for lifelong learning and personal growth.
Our main focus is on helping students find purpose, leading them to meaningful careers and lasting fulfillment. We believe this starts with understanding their strengths and interests. When students recognise how their unique talents can be used, they learn to create value not just for themselves, but for society as a whole.
Self Discovery: This is a crucial part of overall career development. It includes structured learning experiences that help students build a positive relationship with themselves as well as the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to make informed decisions about their education and career paths. Self awareness empowers students to confidently step into the world of work and find paths that align with their sense of purpose.
Career Guidance: This goes beyond education and includes counselling and various activities aimed at helping students develop and apply the skills necessary for making decisions about their education, career options, and life roles. We want students to understand how their strengths can be used to make a meaningful impact on society.
We want to build strong partnerships with parents, as well as external partners like NGOs, businesses, industries, and institutions for further education. These connections are key to delivering effective Careers Guidance and development programs.
We're particularly focused on collaborating with institutions that offer a variety of educational pathways such as vocational training. This includes support for students of all learning abilities, including non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students and those with special educational needs (SEN). By working together, we aim to prepare every student for a fulfilling and meaningful career.
Our lesson approach will be cyclical and spiral throughout the Lower Secondary years (7/8/9), ensuring students are continuously building on their knowledge and skills.

We use skillsbuidler to develop employability skills for careers readiness and for well-rounded and resilient students.
In Year 9/10 students complete aptitude tests that assist in indication of what careers and academic paths would suit them
Career Accelerator is an online self-paced platform for students to get all the information and support they need in finding a pathway to a meaningful career. We recently introduced this to the Year 12 and Year 13 students and will be considering it for Year 11 as well, next year.
All students receive a certificate after completion and will progress through units on employability, skills and different industries.
