IB Courses as an alternative to the IB Diploma

All students at ISHR are encouraged to participate in the full Diploma Programme. Those who do not satisfy the entire set of requirements or who elect to take fewer than three HL subjects are awarded certification from the IB for the individual IB courses they complete, this includes completing the official examinations for these subjects in 12th Grade set by the IB. Some students decide to take all six IB subjects at standard level, together with TOK, the Extended Essay and CAS.

Students who follow this path way are therefore "IB Course candidates" rather than "IB Diploma candidates".

Three higher level courses are a prerequisite for earning an IB Diploma.

All IB Course candidates are still eligible to receive a High School Diploma, providing all internal requirements are met. The completion of CAS is a requirement of ISHR for all students, both IB Course candidates and IB Diploma candidates.
