In Kindergarten, we do not handout homework. However, there are things that you can do at home that would help your child greatly. Below is a list of activities you could do at home with your child.
.) Count a set of objects into a pile of 10 and 20. Also various amounts between 1-20.
.) Practice naming the letters of the alphabet by pointing them out on a chart and being able to do this randomly (not in order).
.) Learn how to tie their shoes.
.) Hold a pencil and a crayon with a 2 finger grip.
.) Write their name and name the letters in their name (first & last).
.) Read a book to your child and have a conversation about the book after it is read.
.) Practice writing their numbers 1-20 by saying the number poems.
.) Practice coloring in the lines and coloring realistically.
.) Writing a realistic story in sequential order.
.) Practice their sight words by using flashcards.
.) Practicing letter sounds by sounding out words and writing what they hear.
